Pogacar’s team reportedly uses rice cakes wrapped in foil during races. Not engineered gels, not proprietary fuel products — just rice with a bit of salt and sugar, wrapped in foil and eaten mid-stage. You can make them at home for a few cents each. I find it a useful reminder that a lot of cycling nutrition gets more complicated than it needs to be. The fundamentals — carbs that digest quickly, carried in a form that holds up in your jersey — matter more than which brand makes them.
