I started doing this after a miserable August training ride where my water went lukewarm within the first hour. Fill your bottles two-thirds full the night before and stick them in the freezer. Right before you head out, top them off with cold water. The ice melts slowly enough that your drink stays genuinely cold for the first 90 minutes — even when it’s 90 degrees out. It sounds too simple to actually work, but it does.
